Possible Research Topics
I'm really excited to take this class because I really enjoy learning about new things that I'm interested in. Technical writing is such a fascinating topic to me because of how broad and vast the topic is. This should be a great semester with lots of good research ahead.
I was looking over the list of possible research topics that Dr. Bacabac provided us and a few of them caught my eye. I will list them below:
- Legal Considerations in Technical Writing
- Cultural and Societal Impacts of Technology
- Writing for International Audiences: Challenges and Strategies
Here's to a new semester full of research and learning.
I think the legal considerations in technical writing would be super interesting! I worked in a litigation law firm over the summer, and I think that there could definitely be some issues in technical writing that could warrant a lawsuit or issue within the litigation field of law. I wonder if it could be something with how language is phrased that is misleading and could lead to an issue. It also made me think of contract law, though I don't know if contract writing/drafting falls under the umbrella of technical writing. Since you like political science, I think it'd be fun to talk about the phrasing of laws and different statutes and do a big analysis on that!
